Venturi Tubes

Venturi tubes are reliable, easy to use and maintenance-free flow meters. Venturi tubes are particularly well suited to the measurement of clean liquids and gases. Venturi tubes are preferred over other differential pressure flow meters as their design encourages a higher pressure recovery and reduced upstream and downstream pipe requirements. Also, Venturi tubes do not require the use of flow conditioning devices upstream of the high pressure tapping.

Features

  • Sur-Tech Venturi tubes are available from 2” to 50” line sizes weld x weld or any flanged arrangement. There are typically 3 manufacturing methods of Venturi tube;

ISO 5167-4

  • Cast form – for sizes 4” to 32”, betas 0.3 to 0.75
  • Machined – for sizes 2” to 10”, betas 0.4 to 0.75
  • Welded form – for sizes 8” to 48”, betas 0.4 to 0.7

Venturi tubes are available in 3 length forms:

  • Long form (7° convergent angle outlet)
  • Short form (15° convergent angle outlet)
  • Truncated (reduction of the convergent outlet by 35%)

  • Cast form – for sizes 4” to 48”, betas 0.3 to 0.75
  • Machined – for sizes 2” to 10”, betas 0.3 to 0.75
  • Welded form – for sizes 4” to 48”, betas 0.3 to 0.75
